W. Oliver Harrison Building. BIBLE, POLITICS AND SEXUALITY. In the highly
charged political arena, the Bible is often used in conversations about
gender identity and sexual orientation. Brite Divinity School’s Carpenter
Initiative in Gender, Sexuality and Justice is pleased to host Brite
scholars Dr. Shelly Matthews and Dr. Stephen Sprinkle, who will offer
perspectives on how the Bible is used in positive and negative ways, as
well as strategies for moving conversations of sexual justice forward.
