Blessing Children & Rites of Initiation Religious Practice in a Multi-faith World (October 20, 11am)October 19, 2011
Hello fellow Students, Faculty and Staff,
I hope you will join us this Thursday, October 20th at 11:00 a.m. in Weatherly Hall for the first of four panel discussions about religious practices in multi-faith settings. Our hope is that through learning about practices in Jewish, Muslim, and Christian contexts that each of us will be able to gain a deeper understanding of our own tradition, and a greater sense of hospitality in multi-faith contexts.
Three guest panelists, Imam Moujahed Bakhach, Rev. Melinda Veatch, and Rabbi Ralph Mecklenburger, will present on ‘Blessing Children and Rites of Initiation’ from Muslim, Christian, and Jewish perspectives. There will be time for questions and discussion after the panelists present.
We will be serving a light lunch from Panera, so please RSVP via the Brite homepage link (http://www.brite.edu/register.asp).
I look forward to seeing you this Thursday as we expand our knowledge and build new relationships.

Religious Practice in a Multi-faith World
Thursday, October 20, 2011 11:00 am
Join us for a series of interfaith panel presentations as we learn about religious practices that are common to Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faith communities. Through engaging and reflecting upon religious practices in these three traditions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of their own practice, and a greater readiness to practice hospitality in interfaith contexts.
