Brite to host MCC Theologies Team

July 1, 2014

Brite Divinity School is excited to host the International Theologies Team of the Metropolitan Community Church on July 15 and 16. The Theologies Team was established in 2007 in order to create opportunities for people in MCC to be able to have meaningful theological conversations at a grassroots level about various beliefs concerning the integration of sexuality and spirituality, the nature of Jesus, baptism, communion, LGBT people’s unique place on the margins of society, and the priesthood of all believers, among other things. As MCC enters into its fifth decade, rewrites its Statement of Faith and elects a new Moderator, the need for theological discussion, both within and outside of the church, has never been greater.

Everyone is invited to join us on Tuesday, July 15 at 7pm for  a reception at in the Bass Conference Center. This is a wonderful opportunity for Brite students, faculty, staff and friends to meet MCC’s Theologies Team and hear about their work.
