Community Conversation Feb 22

February 21, 2011
Dear Students,

I want to invite you to come to the Community Conversation tomorrow after we hear Dr. Claude Walker in Chapel.
You may remember from an earlier email that tomorrow will be an opportunity to discuss in more detail the new emphasis on integrative learning that a task force of faculty and students has completed recently. This plan was developed in close conversation with groups of students as well as with alumnae/i, and denominational partners. We are pleased with the strength we think this emphasis will bring especially to our masters programs and look forward to talking with you about it. Student members from the Task Force will also be present to share in the conversation.

The Integrative Learning proposal is part of our readiness for a major accreditation site visit a month from this week. Such visits happen once every 10 years. Faculty and administrative colleagues from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) arrive on campus Tuesday morning, March 22nd for extensive conversations with faculty, administrators, students, alumnae/i, and board of trustees members regarding Brite’s effectiveness as an educational institution. This group will be especially focused on the proposal on “Integrative Learning across the Curriculum” that also serves as the Quality Enhancement Plan or QEP that SACS requires of every one of its member schools.
I hope to see you at the Community Conversation.

Thanks very much,
Nancy Ramsay
