Biography

Rev. Michael Cooper-White joined Brite Divinity School in 2022 as Interim President. Rev. Cooper-White is an experienced leader in higher education, having served as President of Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg from 2000 to 2017. An ordained ELCA minister, he has also served as Director of Lutheran Formation at Union Seminary (New York,) Executive Assistant to Presiding Bishop, ELCA and Director of the Department for Synodical Relations, ELCA. Since 2017, he has worked as a news reporter and columnist for The Gettysburg Times.

Rev. Cooper-White earned a Bachelor of Art from Concordia College and a Master of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. He holds Honorary Doctor of Divinity degrees from Susquehanna University and Gettysburg College.
