Free Lecture – The Center for Latino/a Church Studies at Brite Divinity School presents Dr. Francisco Garcia – Treto. Join us at the Kelly Center on October 6, 2009 at 7:00 p.m., with a reception following lecture. (free and open to the public)

Dr. Garcia – Treto is an ordained Minister in the Presbyterian Church and Distinguished Professor of Religion Emeritus at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.  He is a member of the Board of Trustees at Princeton Theological Seminary.  He earned his Doctoral and Master of Divinity degrees at Princeton Theological Seminary.

This lecture offers an opportunity to explore the difficulties of doing  “minority biblical criticism” in contemporary U.S. churches and the possibilities this perspective offers for contemporary dialogue about the Church and the Bible.
